Childfree / Childless / Non-Parent Perspectives On Life, Interesting Places and Other Stuff
It’s strange being a married non-mother when you pass the age of forty. Why aren’t there more of me? What can I use as the excuse for my embarrassing “career”? Why do I always make a point of telling people I hate cats? Why do I sometimes feel I should be filling my time in a more useful way?
I wasn’t sure whether this would be a childfree lifestyle blog or a childless by circumstances blog.
But it’s turning out to be the former (I think…).
I’m trying to find a footing in a society that seems to have become more family-fixated and baby-mad than ever. I want to be cool with the fact that I don’t need to be Helen Mirren – I am allowed to not have children and just be my average, non-overachieving self.
Hey world: not everyone can have kids, not everyone wants kids and not everyone should have kids … am I right?
